Position Summary

The Project Manager reports to the Director of Project Management and is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing designated activities as well as providing project management oversight of designated initiatives in support of the mission, vision and strategy of Joerns Healthcare in order to achieve the goals of the Company.  The Project Manager is accountable for the full project lifecycle and works within a matrix of business and operational partners as well as outsourced resources to oversee all project and program phases of commercial projects.  The job holder provides input on commercial and operational readiness of project initiatives to executive management through the active engagement and participation in planning, tracking and execution of projects.

Job Requirements

  • Develop/maintain project plans, initiating implementation programs, creating status reports, presenting status to senior executives and tracking progress.
  • Manage end-to-end execution for assigned projects and/or specific segments of a larger, complex project and regularly monitor and track projects project status & performance in the areas of budget, change notices, customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance, schedule and scope.
  • Identify resource needs or constraints that impact project initiatives by maintaining close contact with key internal customers and project teams.
  • Work with other project team members within the organization to identify opportunities to accelerate project delivery and optimize the project management approach.
  • Communicate project status and other project information on a regular basis to stakeholders across all functions, business units, and with executive leadership on performance to budget, to schedule, and scope with interpretation and recommendations based on data recommendations to maximize performance and minimize risks.
  • Ensure issues/risks are proactively identified, appropriately escalated and include alternative approaches/mitigation plans and manage to resolution.
  • Manage assigned Project and T&E budgets within set parameters.  These parameters will include total limits, phasing of spend, potential adjustments due to business needs as communicated by senior management.
  • Work with other internal partners to develop superior knowledge of business needs and organizational capabilities. This will be acquired by spending time with internal and external stakeholders and meeting with internal and external customers.

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of three to five (3-5) years commercial experience in an operational and/or project management role with focus on project lifecycle management
  • Proficient with Microsoft tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio)
  • Experience managing and driving complex commercial projects involving capital and operational assets in matrix organizations, including the ability to meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities without sacrificing quality or timelines.
  • Proven success executing effective project roll-outs on time and on budget with sustainable project management approach.
  • Excellent change management skills, including ability to think end-to-end, process design, business requirements, employee/operational readiness, testing and implementation
  • Dynamic and decisive, as well as highly collaborative, with ability to work within multiple cross-functional teams.
  • Analytical background with strong data analysis experience and performance management expertise.
  • Solid business acumen and experience in a highly matrix, global organization.
  • Communicate status of all projects to stakeholders across all functions, business units, and with executive leadership.
  • Project management discipline, process and compliance expertise.
  • Adaptable to a fast-paced, high-growth, changing environment with a positive, change agent mentality.
  • Self-motivated, self-directed
  • Excellent written and oral communicator in both large and small group settings. Engaging and dynamic presenter of often complex and/or detailed information to internal and external audiences of various sizes.

Preferred Skills, Experience & Education

  • Experieince within global medical devices or healthcare industries
  • Six Sigma, PMP certified
  • ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, etc., as well as Business Intelligence relational databases
