Position Summary

The Billing Associate is responsible participating in all facets of the billing department functions surrounding invoice setup, correction, and distribution. In addition, the position will provide support to the Collections Department and to cash application. These duties include reviewing and distribution of customer pre-bills, maintaining accurate invoice distribution setup, and working through various invoicing issues.

Job Requirements

  • Participate in the preparation and distribution of customer pre-bills and complete corrections
  • Participate in the resolution of billing dashboard errors, including the collection of customer purchase order numbers
  • Participate in the production and distribution of invoices to healthcare clients
  • Assist in the resolution of distribution dashboard errors
  • Assist with the assignment of reason codes on billing revisions
  • Complete steps for mid-month invoicing on all facilities
  • Participate in the management of the billing e-mail and complete changes presented through this format
  • Assist with reconciliation of sentinel and setup/processing of other outside entities (DSSI, StateServ, etc)
  • Assist in researching and resolving discrepancies
  • Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with all state and federal regulatory standards
  • All employees are required to attend education workshops, review pertinent industry literature, attend in-services on new product(s) and technology when provided

Required Education

2 year degree or comparable experience required
Required Skills & Experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and follow up skills
  • Effective attention to details
  • Proficient with use of computer and software applications including Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple and sometime complex instructions, short and long correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write simple and complex correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
  • Good organizational skills, as well as the capacity to be self-directed, and make independent decisions

Preferred Skills, Experience & Education

  • A minimum of 6 months experience in Customer Service
