Position Summary

The Quality Assurance Manager of the Joerns Service Operations has the responsibility to identify quality variances and assist with follow up of corrective actions; ensure that the process for document control is managed; meet regulatory requirements; oversee training programs and ensure that associates training needs are met; document and follow up of problems with service or products; ensure that all regulatory requirements are in place; prepare applications and maintain requirements for Medicare and state Medicaid’s; Manage the Joint Commission accreditation and ensure requirements are met.   

Job Requirements

  • Monitor and assist in developing and updating policies, procedures and processes and ensuring they are maintained and adhered to in accordance with Company and regulatory quality systems, policies and guidelines.
  • Develop strategies, which meet customer requirements, quality requirements and optimize cost savings.
  • Ensure that there is a training program that meets all regulatory requirements.
  • Adept at leadership development, employee development and talent management.
  • Establish and use metrics that tie to corporate priorities to drive behavior change.
  • Establish, support and maintain appropriate systems for measuring necessary aspects of operational management and development as associated with process improvement and corrective actions for all areas of the business.
  • Monitor, measure and report on operational and management issues and opportunities.
  • Manage and develop direct reporting staff.
  • Manage and control departmental expenditure within agreed budgets.
  • Liaise with other functional/departmental managers so as to understand all necessary aspects and needs of operational and management development.
  • Ensure activities meet with and integrate with organizational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and general duty of care.
  • Manage and report on the Quality Variance Reporting process to ensure issues are identified, follow up occurs, trends are identified, root cause is identified and follow up occurs.
  • Monitor procedures for accuracy and manage the annual review and updates.
  • Perform / Review and ensure follow up of site inspections for quality and safety as well as regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure safety training and conformance to safety practices are followed and updated.
  • Prepare Application packages for license’s and renewals.
  • Prepare Applications for Medicare, Medicaid, and Medi-Cal manage the maintenance of these requirements.
  • Participate in companywide Product Quality process.
  • Responsible for ensuring that departments are aware of JCAHO requirements.
  • Oversee and provide input to field locations audit checklist to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Oversee and review all field audits for accuracy and compliance. Provide input to managers for Corrective Action follow up.
  • Be the point of contact for regulatory questions (compliance, HIPAA, Customer issues/ complaints)
  • Privacy Officer duties. Ensure associates are trained and compliant with HIPAA
  • Manage the collection and reporting for Subpoena’s 
  • Manage and oversee the inspection process for outside inspectors (licensing, accreditation, auditing, etc)
  • Additional duties as required.

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalency required

Required Skills & Experience

  • A bachelor's degree and 7 (seven) years' management experience
  • Ten (10) years of well-rounded management experience, and a team-based management style. 
  • Strong process analysis and assessment skills.
  • In-depth experience in the development of teams and the leadership principles to grow them into high-performing customer facing entities.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in the best practices associated with a world class customer facing organization.
  • Experience in influencing, developing and motivating people from diverse backgrounds; able to lead cross-functional business teams.
  • Successful experience in building customer focused teams.
  • Successful experience in Quality Improvement Processes
  • Knowledge of quality systems, lean processes and continuous improvement programs.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma and Root cause analysis
  • Experience in Healthcare


Preferred Skills, Experience & Education

  • Six Sigma experience Green Belt desired
