Position Summary

The Pricing and Proposal Specialist position will be responsible for receiving and creating all proposals as requested from request to completion. This person will support bid/proposal efforts as assigned, do pricing analysis, and prioritize proposals strategically as identified by the Proposal Manager and/or the Sales Operations Manager.

Job Requirements



  • Review Requests for Information (RFIs), Proposals (RFPs) and Quotes (RFQs) carefully and thoroughly to generate proposals in SAP based on proposal requests received in Salesforce.com (SFDC). 
  • Successfully manage multiple concurrent projects, accurately, thoroughly and under tight deadlines. Some collaboration with other departments, such as Contracts and Marketing to ensure professional compliant responses.
  • Provides pricing assistance, as required, which may include furnishing pricing components, cost research and analysis, provide pricing templates to address win themes.
  • Participate in proposal related meetings to assist Proposal Manager in capture strategies, timelines, compliance matrices, and deliverables.
  • Compile and maintain data leading to development and generation of reports pertaining to proposal activity
  • Assist in maintenance and enhancement of an electronic repository of proposal content utilized for RFPs, RFIs, sole source, and other contracting and procurement processes.
  • Assist in the maintenance process of SFDC/SAP including providing input and auditing. 
  • Support annual pricing analysis, price setting process and implementation of annual price changes.
  • Help manage SAP price holds, price changes and reports daily.
  • Support annual pricing adjustments in system and rollout to Sales team, customers and distributors annually and as required
  • Develop financial analysis on an ad hoc basis along with related profit and loss implications of contemplated pricing decisions and sales to date by customer, market, region, and similar.
  • Assist with reporting and other projects as requested by leadership

 
Required Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Required Skills & Experience

  • Must have excellent customer service skills and be familiar with working in a fast paced environment.
  • Exceptional accuracy is a requirement for this position.
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills and interpersonal skills needed along with creative problem solving skills.
  • Data entry speed Minimum 45 wpm.
  • Committed, accessible, problem-solver, able to attend to detail, ability to follow through, resourceful, self-assured, self-motivated, possesses a sense of urgency, able to communicate and demonstrate action consistent with the company mission and objectives.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write out reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Apply to compute rate, ration, and percent.
  • Ability to problem-solve, strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with exceptional attention to detail, able to cope with and handle stress and competing priorities, strong time management, solid and consistent performance, accuracy and reliability.

Preferred Skills, Experience & Education

  • Prior experience working with proposals/bids (coordinator, specialist, writer, etc…) a plus.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, and Outlook). PowerPoint, Adobe, SAP, and Salesforce experience a plus.
